cant complain. good food, fast service and cheap drinks but nothing to write home about. not an anniversary type place to dine
This place was really quite nice . And the adult meals were lovely . Steak was cooked to perfection and came in a quick manner however one of the meals did come a good 10 minutes after the rest which could have been better. The children's meal of pizza and chips was very disappointing as you could easily tell it was just a quick microwave pizza . The service and atmosphere of the place was great and staff were very friendly. I would reccoment the Bakewell tart anytime .
I recently tried the Vegan menu and got the fishless "Fish and Chips". It tasted so much like fish I genuinely thought it was fish and almost sent it back! Delicious and less than 700 calories for the full meal!
The Roundel is a pub opposite the 5 lamps. This pub has a lovely atmosphere with a lovely menu. I have visited several times & have never been disappointed by the food nor staff. I have had many different types of meals there & have been with family & friends which agree with my statement of the lovely staff & nice food.
Nice decor linked to the local area with a large lounge and bar area with plenty of comfortable seating. The food looked good with a range of options to suit most palettes and wallets along with vegan and kids options. The meal was ordered and the steak requested to be cooked medium after a reasonable wait the food appeared and was well presented on the serving platter. The steak was cooked rare and when it was cut bled on the plate, the server took it back and offered a redo or a refund. We opted for the latter finished our drinks and left. We felt that the staff were great but the chef needs to work on their steak game.
